my pant pattern

My first project from my sewing class is making a pant, but I still don’t know how to draft a pant pattern by myself before the pattern was given my teacher and I only need to duplicate it according to my size, therefore I spent quite a lot of time to search on how to draft the pattern by my own, finally I found a helpful website where share me the method to draft a pant.

Besides, I also found a book in bookstore which got detail step to draft a pant, it also teach how to modify from the basic draft to different style of pants, I like the book very much.

On the night that I bought the book, I drafted a pant according to my size on an old newspaper and it looks nice, I felt proud on myself with this, I am not sure when I will use this draft to sew my own pant, first I need to find a fabric and my sewing machine. Really, I can’t wait to sew the pant.

I am so happy as my pant will be completed on the next sewing class, I wish it will look nice.

sewing heat

Past few days, I kept searching for sewing information and seeking for information about sewing pattern measurement and drawing, later I found that we could download or purchase sewing pattern from certain company, then I am crazily looking for available company.

And I found most sewing patterns are by selling basic, it is hard to get them online, that time I regret that I didn’t learn pattern making from my mother until I need to pay for it now.

Luckily, I found three free sewing pattern from sewcity.com, I think I will start with that before I proceed with buying pattern.

I printed one pattern on Tuesday, it was on A4 size that I need to merge them into combined layout by tap, so I spent my Tuesday night to complete the pattern puzzles, it used out all my tapes but I felt happy to see them in one piece.

Then, I spent my Wednesday night to cut them into 14 pieces, which is the different parts of a dress and a bag, I felt excited to see them in pieces and reading the instruction manual on how to combine them to form a dress.

Now I got a pattern for a dress, but I lack of fabric and sewing machine, I could buy my favorite fabric from Kamdar on this weekend, but I still not ready to buy a sewing machine, I think I would take something to think about it. The cheapest machine is around RM500, though I still afford it, just I still need to find a reason to convince myself and SL that it is worth to buy one.

my hunger

After attending my first sewing class, I am so eager to sew this few days, I keep searching from website about sewing information, I feel hunger and want to sew, now I found my interest, I like to have my own made cloth so much.

Sewing, a hobby that I never thought I would like it, basically I kind of rebel from it. Due to my mother is a tailor, and I was always asked to help up in her shop when I was young, I didn’t have my time for reading, that made me quite offended on sewing, which I always thought that I could buy many beautiful clothes from shop, then why should I spent time on that.

However, my mind was changed gradually after married and even after the incident, I was thinking to learn something and I picked sewing finally, I felt the joy from making own cloth on my first class, though it’s just a pant. Then, I felt that I wish to learn more, I found my happy gene that to deal with fabric.

Now I can’t wait to start making my clothes and hope to own a sewing machine which help me to create my project.

Starting

I start taking sewing class recently, I am kind of crazy on it and keep searching online about information on it, so I am thinking to start another blog area for my interest and something that I do during my spare time, I wish that is I got something besides job to do outside of my working hours, our life should not just fill with work, but we need to have something interested us to keep learning and keep us inspired.

Life without interest is vain, life with only job is wasted. I wish that I can keep it and continue.
